- Already serving the parish in a ministry position but wishing you had a stronger foundation?
You’re in a leadership position in the parish but you know that understanding more about the teachings of the church would be beneficial?
You’d like to connect with others in ministry outside your parish?
This may be what you are being called to!
Applications are now being accepted for the 2019-2020 Lay Ministry Formation and Leadership program.
This diocesan program takes you deeper into your faith and into ministry. Meetings are held one Saturday per month in Reno, for ten months starting in August. If there is enough participation, some of the meetings will be “Zoomed” to St Joseph’s in Elko to make it easier for those on the eastern side of our diocese to participate.
Interested? Intrigued? Talk to your pastor about your interest! Go to the diocesan website for the brochure and an application form: https://renodiocese.org/home/ourworks/lay-ministry-leadership-development/ Or go to the diocesan website, click on “Our Works”, then click on Lay Ministry Formation and Leadership.
Topics include: Liturgy, Ministry, Gospels, Foundations of Theology, Catholic Social Teaching, and Spirituality.
Comments from previous participants: “The fire continues to burn in my heart after my additional formation.” “It filled some of the weaknesses in my foundational knowledge of the Bible, Catholic doctrine and practice.” "I feel as if I have a great network of faith-filled individuals that I can still communicate with." "I loved going to our monthly classes and always was excited and looking forward to them because I knew I was not going to leave "Empty Hearted." Even when I already knew what the class was all about, the Holy Spirit always gave me new insights, new revelations, new wisdom."
Applications are due May 1, 2019
