About Fr. Smiga

About Conversations

Preparing for Our Meetings

Fr. George Smiga was ordained as a priest for the Diocese of Cleveland in 1975. He has been pastor of St. Noel since 1991. In 1985 he received his doctorate in Biblical Theology from the Gregorian University in Rome. Along with serving the pastoral needs of St. Noel, he teaches as part of the scripture department at St. Mary Seminary and Graduate School of Theology in Wickliffe, Ohio.   We are molded lovingly into who we are by the hand of God.  The Spirit of God dwells in us as in a temple.  Therefore, we are able to reveal God to each other.  This mutual revealing occurs best when our interaction consists of conversations characterized by the qualities listed in the "About Conversations" topic.  We ask that participants in our meetings review these ideas before our meetings begin.    We post the videos and discussion questions on the website so participants can watch the videos and think about the focus questions ahead of time. Although it is not required that participants review the video and questions before each meeting, we do recommend this approach.
