• One Church Annual Christmas Collection - Newman Center

  

  The One Church Christmas Collection for 2024 will endow Our Lady of Wisdom Newman Center at UNR with funds necessary of its operation.

  This collection will take place on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sundays of Advent and at all Christmas Masses.  Look for One Church Collection envelops in our pews.

  You are invited to attend the Annual Diocesan Conference which is being held January 10 & 11, 2025 at the Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks. Registration is available on the diocese website, High Desert Catholic.

• Death and Dying, Life and Living

  

  You are invited to come and listen to an insightful conversation on death and dying with Fr. Thomas Keating O.C.S.O. who was a Trappist monk, priest and Abbot. He co-founded Contemplative Outreach in 1983 and was the Spiritual Guide of this organization for 35 years.

  In this intimate conversation he offers a vision of hope and a view of reality that counters the cultural norm that views death
  as a tragedy, or the end of living, or an entry into harsh judgment and retribution. Fr. Thomas focuses on the transformational process of death and dying as part of, rather than the end of, life’s journey.

  The series of talks will be presented over two consecutive Saturday mornings 18th and 25th January 2025, 9:00-11:30 am. There will be a period of silence after each talk to facilitate reflection. Come to the Baruch Room with a pen and paper and a willingness to listen and silently reflect on what touches your heart.
